Mary Regina MacKillop
Reserve Mines
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Mary MacKillop, age 71, of Reserve Mines, on November 9, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. She died at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born and raised in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Thomas (Tucker) and Regina (Mountain) McMullin.
Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her job at Cape Breton Post and retired after 30 plus years. She also worked at Stream/Concentrix up until her death. Mary was the life of the party and loved an evening out dancing, family get togethers, playing darts, and just having fun. She had a special sparkle anytime she spoke of her adventures with her nephew, Jeremy. There was nothing Mary loved more than dancing with her husband Bobby before his passing and she missed him dearly. She spent lots of time at the baseball field over the years watching her boys and Bobby playing ball. You could find Mary sitting on “her rock” at Dominion beach with a friend and a favorite beverage in hand whenever she had the chance.
Mary will be forever missed by her sons, Robert (Terese), Cory (MaryAnn), Danny (Lindsay); brothers, Tom (Anita), Henry (Paula), Dan (Linda), John(Karen); sisters, Linda McNeil, Betty Reeves (Fred), Bernadette Dolhai; grandchildren, Alex, Robert, Jeffrey, Jessica, Jennifer, Danielle, Ryland, Gia; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Emma, Kalli, Robert, Jade; brother-in-law Tucker Nearing; sister-in-law and best friend Deborah MacKillop, Special Sister Darlene McMullin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Bobby MacKillop; mother and father-in-law, Angus and Muriel MacKillop, brothers-in-law, Ricky, Lloyd, Butch MacKillop, Sheldon McNeil; Sister-in-law, Sandra Nearing; great-grand child, Gracie.
Special Thank You to VON, Palliative Care, Blair Slade, Bernie Tutty, Angelo Sifnakis, many friends, family, and neighbours who visited Mary, called, sent food, and offered support in so many ways. Your generosity will never be forgotten.

Look for me in Rainbows
Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you.
It won't be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And I'll be there with you.
