Condolences to Irene families, I had the pleasure of after many, many years of last seeing Irene almost daily when she worked as cashier in the busy Sterling area, at Sam Mendelson's grocery store, a few years ago, I was at the Sterling Mall, near the cash inline, I easily recognized Irene, ( noting to myself she aged beautifully ) I mentioned you are very familiar with waiting on customers with a smile catching her attention, she said do I know you, yes in 1960's mentioning my oldest brother Cyril, she then hit all my brothers names who worked with her, your not Cecil are you, yep it's me, well we hugged each other like no tommorow in the lineup letting people go a head exchanging memories of the past, she said working at Sammy's like a big family of friends, she invited me to come visit her at the seniors complex. I was unfortunately just leaving the area within hours. Irene was such a special person, I will remember her dearly.condolences herfamily,to everybody that knew Irene.

Peace comes to each of us in one way or another and at one time or another. For Irene peace was when she and Roddie were together, soul mates who spent most of their lives together. It was that simple. Irene has now found her peace. For that I am grateful. She deserves to be at rest and at peace once again.
I met Irene in 1969 when she started working at the Canadian Tire store where I also worked along with most of my family. We hit it off instantly and before I knew it, I was enjoying visits with her and Roddie and enjoying a meal or her amazing baking treats and taking a new recipe away with me...many of which I use to this day. They soon became like second parents to me, a relaxed home when I needed a place to disappear to. Always welcoming and always open to hear what my teenaged mind had to share.
We always stayed in touch over the decades and the many miles that ended up separating us, and we always picked up where we left off, it seemed. Irene and Roddie were always on my list to drop in whenever I went back home for a visit. I will always be grateful for her decision to join us at CTC way back when, and for the decades of friendship that followed. Rest dear Irene.
Thank you, Trish and Donna, for the loving care you provided for my dear friend.
Love Lyd

The world is a little darker today ,we loss one very special lady .My Aunt Irene Maclean ,she was very special aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was one of kindness ,caring ,loving people and funny. She was the owner of PlayTime Pools Glace bay .Her love of people and personally shine through like lighthouse beacon in the night. She was not only my Aunt but my friend, She was their when I need support in my darkest hour. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Her talents were not limited to business but she was a fabulous cook and baker .I will miss the her cheese cakes she always made for me .She loved people and they loved her. She made friends in Florida and they are still in contact today .I always told her she was my favorite Aunt on Beacon St; her reply was I am your only Aunt on this street .
I know you know how much I love you my friend and I will treasure your memory forever .
