Joseph Michael Murphy, 79
Dominion, NS
We the family of Joseph Michael Murphy, 79 of Dominion, are heartbroken to announce his passing on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the Halifax Infirmary, with his loved ones at his side. Born in Glace Bay, Joe was the son of the late Joe and Emma Murphy.
Dad was a proud, and dedicated member of The Dominion Hawks Club. He appreciated getting out for a game of golf with his club members and was also an avid Harness Racing Fan.
Joe is survived by sons: Michael and Shannon Murphy; daughter: Jacqueline (Blair) LeBlanc; brother: Jackie (Inez) Murphy; sisters: Priscilla MacLean, Donna Murphy, Barbara (Gary) O’Brien; four grandchildren: Nicole, Ryan, Morgun, and Tyler; three great-grandchildren: Cameron, Jayden, and Alexander.
Along with his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife Sharon (Carver) and a sister Sandra MacNeil.
He will be missed by his fur baby Buster. Joe will also be dearly missed by his very special friends, Kaye Kelloway, and Lillian MacKinnon.

There will be no Visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. (902)849-4199. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau presiding. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Rd., Glace Bay following the service.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dominion Community Hawks Club, Lower Mitchell Ave., Dominion, NS, immediately following the Interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dominion Hawks Club or a charity of one’s choice.
