Harvey Turnbull, 74
Dominion, NS
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our husband, father and Poppy, Harvey Turnbull, 74, of Dominion, on Tuesday, August 2nd at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
For many years, Harvey worked in construction. After retirement, he was happiest in his garden or sitting on his front swing. However, he got the most pleasure tormenting his four grandchildren on a daily basis. He was a true gentleman and family man. Because of his charm and wit, dad could put a smile on the faces of everyone he met.
Harvey will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Gwen, children Jason (Stacy), and Launa (Chris) Edwards. Missing Poppy so much are his four most cherished gifts, his grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Makaio, and Lucy Rae.
Also surviving are brother Fraser (Sandra), sisters Chrissie (Manzie) McNeil, Diana (Greg) O`Brien, Sandra (late Skip Williams) and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, John and Kathleen Turnbull of Dominion.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, (902)849-4199. Visitation will be on Friday, August 12th, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Reception to follow at Harvey’s home on Turnbull St., in Dominion.
Please note that the family requests masks be worn during the Visitation and Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Special thank you to Dr. Kelly and the team of 4B at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, for their care and compassion given to our kind and loving husband/father/poppy.

Till my trophies at last I lay down.
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown."
