Obituary of Joey Ogley

Joseph Leroy Ogley, 69 Glace Bay, N.S. We the family of Joseph (Joey) Leroy Ogley are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Glace Bay Hospital with his loved ones at his side. Joey was born in Glace Bay to the late Walter (Buster) and Anne (Tracey) Ogley. Joey enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he always had a story to tell about the one “that got away.” For years Joey worked for several Plumbing and Heating Companies before opening his own company, “Ogley’s Plumbing and Heating.” Later in life Joey changed careers and went to work for Municipal Ready Mix up until his retirement. Joey is survived by his children: Kim (Simon) Connell, BC, Joey, ON, Kelly (Dave) Verge, ON, and Joseph, Glace Bay; brother Jimmy (Gail); sister Kathy (Brad) Gilbert, Glace Bay; along with seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Joey was predeceased by a son Robbie, daughter Kary, brother Tommy and grandparents, Walter and Bette Ogley, Margaret and Joseph Tracey. Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. There will be no service at this time. Donations in Joey’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Charity of one’s choice.
