Our deepest sympathies and condolences go to Ray and the children. We remember our Aunt Shirley and Uncle Ray from the times we would visit Glace Bay and Mira with our dad, Shirley’s brother Earl. We remember Shirley and Ray’s hospitality and our aunt Shirley’s quiet and gentle way. Remembering when we were kids, we especially remember the pies and rolls. Our thoughts are with Ray and our cousins at this difficult time.

Dear Ray, Debbie, Paula and David.....Shirley was such a kind and sweet lady! Growing up in the neighborhood I spent a lot of time at your house playing Barbies with Paula and Shirley was always smiling and pleasant. To this day, every Halloween I still think of her sponge candy and taffy apples, she would always have some for me. May she rest in Peace, hugs to you all. Bernita (Campbell) Merritt

I was very saddened to read of Shirley’s passing. My mind instantly went back to the days of working with her at GBCH. It was such a pleasure to work with her. She and Ray hosted various summer staff “get togethers”at their summer bungalow which were so enjoyable and when I was leaving home to work in Ontario they hosted my going away party. I am glad our paths crossed. My sincere condolences to Ray and the entire family. Rest easy Shirl. You sure deserve it.

Ray and family,
I am so sad to learn of Shirley's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing Shirley and played a few games of tarabish with her. She was a delightful, kind, thoughtful all round sweet lady. She was always so nice and friendly to everyone. She was the epitome of a lady. Her popularity was evident when we played cards at local halls and so many people would stop at our table to say "hi" to Shirley.
I am so pleased to have known her. May all your memories of Shirley sustain you through this difficult time.
Rest In Peace Shirley.
God Bless
Irene and Harold Antle
