When you are born you cry, and the world rejoices-when you die, you rejoice and the world cries.
It is with the deepest of sorrow the family of Raymond Aloysius MacIntosh wish to announce his peaceful passing, in the presence of loving family members, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Palliative Care Unit, CBRH, Sydney, N.S.
Born in Glace Bay, N.S. on December 15, 1949, Raymond was the beloved son of the late Aloysius and Edith (MacDonald) MacIntosh.
Raymond recently received his fifty (50) year commemorative pin recognizing his Union membership with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 73. His passions in life included antique cars, home repairs and conversing with family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his loving partner of forty (40) years, Vera (Veronica) Thomson; sisters: Josephine (Dodo) Hopkins, Catherine (Bookie) McComber; brother: Barry (Margie) MacIntosh; Children: Raymond, Deborah, and Keri MacIntosh.
Along with his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sister’s, Helen Robinson, Frances Boutilier and Heather MacIntosh.
A special thank you to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, Palliative Care Unit and VON staff for the professionalism and compassionate care provided to our loved one. Also, a special mention to Raymond’s two best friends, Robert Murray, and Les Thomson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 902-849-4199. After the service, there will be a reception and Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, 64 Wallace’s Rd., Glace Bay, N.S.
