Obituary of Patricia Sykes

Mary Alice Patricia Sykes, 68 Glace Bay It is with great sorrow, that we the family of Mary Alice Patricia Sykes, 68 of Glace Bay announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Patricia was the daughter of the late Paddy Hines and Hattie (Dunphy) Keagan, then adopted by Irene and Andrew O’Neill. Mom dedicated her time to taking care of her family and helping at the Glace Bay Food Bank for many years. She loved to knit, and no matter the occasion or who it was for, there was always something special made by her for it. Surviving Patricia are sons: John (Tina) Roberts, Glace Bay, and Joey (Jenn) Roberts, Eastern Passage; daughter: Trish (Chris) Roberts, Sydney; brothers: Lloyd Keagan, Pembroke ON and Bobby (Rozie)O’Neill, Glace Bay; sisters: Darlene Ashford, North Sydney and Madonna Keagan, North Sydney; grandchildren: Makayla Roberts, Glace Bay and Arianna Roberts, Eastern Passage. Along with her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband John Roberts; sisters: Carol Anne Hines and Nancy Keagan; brothers: John Hines, Rickey Keagan, and Robert Keagan. A very special thank you to the Home Care Staff and all the Staff at the Seaview Manor. Their help was much appreciated by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom’s memory to the Glace Bay Food Bank. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. at T.J.
