Bernard Michael ‘Mike’ Usher

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our loving husband, dad, brother, uncle and friend, Mike Usher on December 7, 2021, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Willie and Lillian (Corbett) Usher.
Mike was a devoted employee for over 20 years with the Cape Breton Island Housing. He enjoyed family drives, spending time with his family, playing darts and tinkering in the yard on cars. He had a great work ethic and was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He loved many and was loved by many.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joanne (MacDonald); son, Patty; daughters, Michelle, and Bev (Adam); nine grandchildren, special grandsons who were raised as his own, Alex and Kyle MacDonald and Brayden MacLean, his best friend. He is also survived by his brothers, Buddy (Paulette) Usher, Glace Bay and Joe (Arlene) Usher, Lingan Road; sisters-in-law, Beverly MacDonald, and Shirley MacDonald; special niece, Kelly (Jamie) Warford, nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his best friend Mugsy Sampson.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, mother and father-in-law, Casey and Bessie MacDonald, brother, Willie, and a brother in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, from 12-2 p.m., Memorial Service to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay, (902-849-4199).
