I'm so sorry to hear about Leo. He was a great friend to me and my family having worked on the Railroad with my father. He was also a great friend to Glace Bay Minor Hockey where he was a faithful fan and 50/50 ticket seller. I will miss our chats at the forum. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and many friends. RIP Leo.

My condolences to his family, he was definitely a unique cat if I ever met one. I'll always remember and appreciate him making homemade biscuits with tea every week when we worked together. R.I.P.

TO the family of Leo, I knew your dad quite well ...growing up in No. 2; attending St. John's Parish and school, playing in the neighborhood. He was a wonderful man...May he rest in peace. My assurance of prayer for the repose of his soul and for consolation to the family. He is with his God whom he served so well by being such a great guy; family man and a good man. God bless you all. S. Mary Shaw, ASC, D.Min, Springfield, Illinois, formerly of No. 2.

Trish / Danny / Leo and Family.
I'm shocked to here about your Dad, I was one of his old friends from his St. Mikes High School days in the 1960's and like Leo and Sylvia I went to Toronto to make my fortune.
I was at their wedding in Toronto, and years late your Dad was one of my Best Men at my wedding in Glace Bay.
During my trips Home with my family I would drop in to see them, and in later years when Leo was working out west, your Mom would bring me up to date on EVERYONE.
When your mom passed, I had a few visits with Leo.
It was a few years ago that I last saw Leo and all seem fine then.
We had a short trip Home in August/2021, I dropped over, didn't see your Dad but saw the SOLD sign on the Homestead, and figured I would get to see him on my next trip.
You have lost a Great Dad and Papa and I am so sorry for our loss.

We wish to express our most sincerest condolences to Leo's family. Having lived with Leo's family for a few years as a young boy I was part of the family. They treated me as their own, always well dressed, lots of great food to eat & they took me on holidays with them, truly the best years of my young life. Leo was like a brother to me always even as we grew older & went on our separate ways raising our families. All through the years visiting Glace Bay on vacation from Toronto Leo was there to spend time with & talk about old times. He will always be in my heart as one of my best friends , RIP Leo.
