Sheri Madison Paige Kelly, Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend Sheri Madison Paige Kelly on, Oct 8.2021 lost her young life at age of 16 years to a tragic house fire along with her dog Daisy. Madison was born in Sydney on July 21, 2005. She was the daughter of Brian Sponagle and Angela Marie Kelly, Granddaughter of Cotter Aloysius Kelly, Juanita and George Clarke of Glace Bay and Barbara Jean DeCoste/Harry Riess of Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her second mom Vanessa and Wayne Spencer, sisters Haylee, Faith, Jessica Burns, Bryanna, Jessica Marie and her brothers Dakota, Ronnie, Noah, and her baby brother Roman Madison was a very kind, caring and generous person who gave freely of herself, always putting the needs of others before those of her own. Her main love in life was her family; she truly loved and enjoyed spending time with her siblings and friends. She was a very friendly person and had a profound sense of humor. Her strength and support will never be forgotten. She loved her dog Daisy and her cat whom she cherished as her fur babies. She will be sadly missed by Godmother/ Aunt Cynthia Kelly and her Uncle Greg Metcalfe (second father), cousin William and Mason, her special Aunt Michelle Ann Kelly, Great Aunt Marybeth Tuffild. Aunt Florence Blake paternal great- grandmother, Cecilia Gertrude Kelly (Harrietha), Uncle Melvin, Michael Bickerton and Paul Sponagle, Aunt Michelle, and Uncle Wayne Setiger. Paternal grandfather,Melvin Bickerton (papa snooks) of New Waterford. She will be sadly missed by Laureen McKenzie. Godparents Tanya McLeod, Erick Syms and Brian Wareham. Madison’s best friends: Katie MacLeod, Abbey Lyn Lee, Ethan Syms, Alyssa MacNeil, Makayla Fiander, Brooke Rowe, Makayla Hurley, Brendona Gashi from London, Ontario, and her special friend Josh Barry and many more near and dear friends. She was predeceased by her mother Angela Marie Kelly, her Aunt Sherrie Lee, in infancy. She is also predeceased by maternal great-grandparents Dolena Marie DeCoste (Briand) and William Frances DeCoste. Paternal great- grandfather, Aloysius Kelly, paternal grandparents, Margaret and Jimmy Sponagle, as well as her best friend, Brea Dawn Mackenzie. A heartfelt thank you to all Firefighters’, Officers, Fire Marshal and Paramedics EHS for the professionalism shown throughout the entirety of this incident. “Do a kind deed to keep her kind and gentle spirit alive and keep her light forever shining bright.”. A Memorial Service will be held for Madison on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1 p.m., under the care and guidance of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902.849.4199. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Madison’s memory to the Cape Breton Humane Society.
