It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Thomas “Tommy” Hogan, age 80, on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Georgina and Thomas Hogan Sr.
Tommy worked as a coal miner for Devco for many years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and the piano with his family. Tommy also loved playing horseshoes, going fishing and hunting; and spending time with his five grandchildren.
Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas James ‘Tommy’ (Jamie) Hogan, Sydney; daughters, Mary Charlene (Eric) Butts, Burlington, Ontario, Linda Marie (Perry) Dennis, Sydney; five loving grandchildren, Thomas and Daniel Butts, Braeden, Carson, and Austin Hogan.
He will be sadly missed by his companion Martina Hall and her family; Tommy is also survived by his siblings, Arthur (Pat) Hogan, Jimmy (Kay) Hogan, Wayne (Rhonda)Hogan, Kevin (Paula) Hogan and Euvella (Manzie) LaBelle; sister-in-law, Helen Doyle; brother-in-law, Myles (Gloria) McNeil; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Delores (McNeil) Hogan.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family memorial service at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Burial to take place in St. Eugene’s Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, social distancing and masks are to be adhered to. Thank you.

The family would like to thank his physician, Dr.Azer for all his care and support over the years, and to the doctors and nurses at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, for their amazing care given to our father.
