It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife mother, grandmother, sister and friend at the QE11 in Halifax on June 30, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Jo was the daughter of the late Leo and Christina Campbell of Dominion. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leroy ‘Lee’ ; sons, Leroy Jr. (Dawn), Shawn (Patricia); siblings Sheila, Arthur and Johnny (Betty); her loving grandchildren, Casey, Julia, Audrey, Dale, Kevin, Daniel, Ashlee; great grandchildren, Alexis, Loick, Ariele, Mary Jane, Jude, Abby, Aurora as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jo was predeceased by her brothers, Fr. Leo Jr. Terry, George, and sister Catherine.
Ma and dad met at the Old Silver Rail in Reserve and married at Camp Borden, Ontario in 1965, the rest is a love story to long to tell.
Jo was an avid dart player representing Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in National Dart Competitions, where she often finished in the top rankings. Jo was the first female inducted into the National Dart Federations Hall of Fame in 2002.
Joe started her working career as a telephone operator in New York City, a job she enjoyed at various military bases across Canada she ended her working days with the CBVR school board.
A celebration of Jo’s life will be held 11: 00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 with Fr. Boudreau officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902-849-4199)
