Obituary of Terrance Russell Currie

Please share a memory of Terrance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With broken hearts, we the family of Terrance Russell Currie announce his peaceful passing after a brief and sudden illness on May 1, 2024. Terry was born on Friday, September 13, 1945, to Terrance & Corinna Currie in Halifax, NS. Despite being born on what most would consider an unlucky day, Terry always said he had the luckiest life although he endured many challenges. Terry was a man ahead of his time with many interests. He was an avid fly fisherman, artist, prospector and so much more. Terry spent many a day on the edge of a river teaching random people who stopped to chat how to properly cast a line or how to pan for gold. Terry always noticed when someone was in need, whether that be someone close to him or complete strangers. He helped many people in so many ways. The outpouring of these people’s own grief in the last few days has brought his family so much comfort. Left to mourn is his loving wife Joan, his daughters and sons-in-law Rachael & Dave and Mary & Scott. Terry’s greatest joy was his grandchildren Rylan, Ayden, Eva & Abby. Terry was incredibly proud of them and spoiled them with love and chocolate. Terry is also survived by his siblings; Allan (Linda), Joe (Donna), Mary (Ronnie) Pelrine and Michael, along with many nieces and nephews. Terry was welcomed into heaven by his parents Terrance & Corinna, siblings Marie, Margaret, Rose, Corinna, David, Vincent and his best fishing buddy Charlie. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Dartmouth General Hospital. From the triage to the ICU, we knew Terry was in the right hands. Special thanks to Paul in the ER, Paul, Tracy, Charlie, Hannah, the doctors in the ICU and the surgeons whom we know did everything they could. Your professionalism, kindness and support were so appreciated. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2:00pm in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens located at 767 Main St., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, please consider a random act of kindness in Terry’s memory. Those that liked him, liked him a lot
