It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Nolan on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her family by her side.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Frank and Rita (Doucette) McIntyre.  She worked in various trades in her community. She was employed with St. Joseph’s Hospital as a heavy duty cleaner, medically retired in 1987 and later became involved with St. Vincent De Paul for 30 years and eventually became president of particular council for the St. Joseph/Holy Family Parishes.  A devoted wife, mother, sister and  grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world. She was dedicated to her community and loved helping others. Mom was the strongest, caring and giving person who always thought of others. She had the biggest heart and best sense of humour.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, William Nolan; son, John Michael (Susan); daughters,  Rhonda (Vince) and Christine (Jay); five precious grandchildren  Taylor, Gabrielle, Ayden, Pius and Maurice; brother, Brian (Debbie); sisters, Mary and Bernadette (Howard) as well as nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Juliette and Carol Ann, brothers, Jimmy and Tommy.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reserve Mines, St. Vincent De Paul.
