Donald William "Donnie" Pelrine Obituary

Age 66 of Halifax. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Donnie on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Donnie was the son of the late, Jimmy and Marie Pelrine.

He is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Donovin); granddaughter, Mikka; grandson, Thorsten; siblings, Diane, Paul (Bernadette), Wayne (Peggy), Darrell “Bud” (Ann) Debbie (Tony), Heather (Darren); sister-in-law, Sandra; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

He was predeceased by grandparents, Florence and Archie Martin, Jeffery and Minnie Pelrine; parents, Jimmy and Marie Pelrine; brother, Gary Pelrine; and brothers-in-law, Dave Moulton and David Delorey.

As proud owner of Graffiti Gone, Donnie loved nothing more than helping others. He took great pride in restoring surfaces for his clients with his trusty sidekick Dexter. An avid animal lover, Donnie and Dexter were inseparable. You rarely saw one without the other, whether it was on the job, in the convertible or on Donnie’s motorcycle wearing his “Doggles”.

Donnie had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Donnie loved to cook, swap recipes, and make pickles to share with family and friends.

In his younger years Donnie loved to play baseball, hockey, and golf. Pastimes he shared with his brother Gary.

Family was the most important thing to Donnie, especially Tanya, Mikka, and Thorsten. Donnie would fondly recall stories of skiing, going to Magic Mountain, and school trips with Tanya. He carried a fierce pride for all Tanya’s accomplishments, especially those in the boxing ring. He and Uncle Gary would travel with her far and wide to stand in her corner, ensuring he never missed a fight. Anyone who spent more than a few minutes in his company quickly learned who she was – he took immense joy is telling anyone who would listen “That’s my daughter up there”. He loved his swimming trips with Mikka and Thorsten and taking them for their very first donair! Donnie was excited to spend the summer at Beech Brook Campground with his family. Uncle Donnie to all of his nieces and nephews was the epitome of fun and always up for an adventure. Donnie’s unshakeable pride and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
