Susan Lorraine Boudreau (nee MacIsaac) Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lorraine Boudreau (née MacIsaac) on July 15, 2026, at the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton, surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was the beloved wife of Francis Boudreau and the devoted mother of Jordan (Kristina Osterman), Matthew (Christine MacLean), and Jared (Jamey Erjavec). She was the adored daughter of Danny MacIsaac and the late Margie MacIsaac, and the cherished sister of Greg (Christa), the late Michael (Diane), Gerry (Marie), Rob (Janice), Donna (Dan Magee), and Lori (Jason MacDonald).

She was also a much-loved aunt, cousin, and friend. A proud member of the Boudreau family for 40 years, Susan shared a close and loving relationship with her in-laws. Her furry grandcats, Link and Keon, and her grandpuppy, Tim, will miss her dearly.

Susan loved sports and excelled at baseball, bowling, and washer toss. She also had a passion for travel and was always ready for her next adventure, whether it was a cruise, a resort vacation, a train journey through Europe, or a Sunday drive around the island.

Her calendar was rarely empty. Live theatre, the annual girls’ weekend in May, ceramics and painting parties, and the family camping trip to Chéticamp Island were among the many activities she enjoyed. Susan played an important role in keeping her family connected and loved hosting barbecues by the family pool. No one ever left Susan’s home hungry, as she always made sure everyone was well fed. She was well known for her sweet tooth and rarely passed up the chance to enjoy a treat, especially chocolate or gelato.

Above all, Susan was most proud of her three boys and was overjoyed to welcome their partners into the family. Although she would not have the opportunity to meet the grandchildren expected in the coming months, Susan took great joy in knowing they were on the way and that her love would live on through her growing family.

Susan faced cancer over the past year with remarkable strength and courage. True to her nature, she remained stoic throughout and never wanted anyone to fuss over her or worry.

Susan retired from Walmart, formerly Woolco, in 2023 after 43 years of dedicated service.

Susan was a beautiful soul—generous, funny, loving, and deeply devoted to her family and friends. She brought people together, made everyone feel welcome, and filled countless lives with laughter, kindness, and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
