It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colette Anne Sampson, age 66, on July 8, 2026. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she passed in her peaceful family cottage in Shad Bay.

Colette was predeceased by her father, Gerald Sampson and remembered fondly by her mother Shirley (Coolen); children, Kelsey and Zachery Cleveland; grandchildren, Norah and Millie Cleveland; sister, Cecile Sampson; and her former spouse David Cleveland as well as the countless people who grew to love her along her journey in life.

Growing up in Shad Bay, she had a love for the sea and its treasures, and an affinity for the outdoors, spending her time as a young woman adventuring in the wild, whale watching, fishing and exploring areas of Owls Head with friends and family. She worked in the accounting field most of her life with her later days spent enjoying time with her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than a good game of Solitaire or Minesweeper and to kick back in her favourite chair.

A burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery in Shad Bay on July 17, 2026 at 1pm. A celebration of life held at a later date.
