Anne "Arlene" Boudreau Obituary

Anne Arlene Boudreau, 77

Dominion, N.S.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Anne Arlene Boudreau, age 77, of Dominion, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Thursday July 9, 2026.

Born on May 4, 1949, in Dominion, Arlene was the cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Evangeline (MacKinnon) Boudreau.

She was proud to call Cape Breton home and wanted nothing more than to return to her roots to live out her final days.

If there was one thing everyone knew about Arlene, it was that her family was her whole world.

She was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated herself to raising her three boys, keeping up with their adventures while providing them with endless love, guidance, and support. She was immensely proud of the men they became and treasured every moment spent with them.

Becoming a grandmother brought her even greater happiness. Her grandchildren filled her heart with pride. She loved nothing more than watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating lasting memories together.

Arlene leaves behind her loving sons, Derek (Gloria), Jason (Erin), and Chad; and her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, Christopher, Savannah, and Kolby, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.

She is also lovingly remembered by her ex-husband, Allan LeForte, sisters and brothers, Evangeline Deruelle, Harvey (Claire) Boudreau, Paula (Basil) MacDonald, and Adele (Frank) Bates; her sisters-in-law, Sandra and Kay Boudreau; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Arlene is predeceased by her parents Daniel and Evangeline; and brothers, Charlie, Les, and Greg Boudreau, her sister-in-law Belinda and brother-in-law Edward

Arlene loved spending time outdoors tending to her garden, where she took great pride in watching flowers and plants flourish under her care. Family gatherings brought her immense joy, and she cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved most. Known for her quick wit, warm smile, and kind heart, Arlene had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She also had an unexpected talent as a remarkably sharp shot with a pellet gun.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff of 3B and Palliative Care Units at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Arlene and her family during her final days.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12 P.M.-2 P.M. with funeral service to follow at 2 P.M. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

Burial will take place following the service at Calvary Cemetery (Immaculate Conception), 468 Kings Road, Glace Bay with a reception to follow at 3:30 p.m., in the Reserve Mines Fire Hall, 195 Main St, Reserve Mines.

Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful for the years we shared with her. We will miss her laugh, her hugs, her advice, and the love she gave so effortlessly. Although she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who went before her, and that her spirit will continue to live on in every flower that blooms, every family gathering, and every memory we hold close.

Arlene, we love you, all the world.
