Ronald Leander Woodworth Obituary

Ronald Leander Woodworth, 81, passed away peacefully at Ivany Place in Bedford, N.S. on June 16, 2026.

Born in Kentville on April 15, 1945, he was the son of the late Donald and Bertha (Davidson) Woodworth. As a youth, he excelled at hockey and baseball. Nothing meant more to him than family. He worked hard to ensure he took care of us. He also loved reading. Ron was happiest in nature and always enjoyed camping and the outdoors. For a brief period in his later years, he lived off-grid in a cabin he built. He always spoke fondly of that time. As a free spirit, he never missed a chance to seize the moment.

Ron is survived by his two daughters Carrie (Kristen) of Sherwood Park, AB and Becky (Everett) of Dartmouth, N.S., his grandson Ricky of Dartmouth, N.S., and his brother Kenneth of Kelowna, B.C. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Richard (Lis) of Creston, B.C.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ivany Place for their care and kindness. Cremation has been entrusted to T.J. Tracey. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Burial will take place at Jawbone Corner Cemetery in Canard, N.S.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
