Glenda Fournier, 72

Glace Bay, N.S.

We the family of Glenda Fournier, 72, of Glace Bay, announce her passing on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in the New Waterford Heights Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Kathleen McNeil.

Glenda loved country music and dancing. In her earlier years, she loved to play darts and was part of a Thursday night league where she made lasting friendships.

Glenda is survived by two sons: Jim (Nicole) Fraser and Jason Fraser; a daughter Angela Fraser (Doug Desveaux); three grandchildren: Sidney, Spencer, and Charlie; siblings: Angus (Charlene) McNeil, Karen (Henry Debison) Howarth, Chris (Larry) Boutilier, Bradley (Paula) McNeil, Bruce (Kelly) McNeil and Priscilla (Mike) MacDonald.

Along side her parents, Glenda was predeceased by her two brothers Wendell and Milton McNeil.

Glenda fought a long and courageous battle against a body that would not obey. We take comfort in knowing that she is finally free from the struggle-whole, restored, and dancing as she loved to do.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902-849-4199).

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Chaplain Lily MacDonald presiding.

Donations may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada.
