We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Johnny Forget on May 23, 2026, at the age of 38. Born in Sydney on July 19, 1987, to Paul and Norma (MacNeil) Forget.

Johnny was an electrician at Bond & Coolen who took pride in his work. No matter how busy he was, he answered the phone with his familiar words, “I’ll be right over.” Though things did have to be “Johnny's way”.

Johnny had an especially strong devotion to his children and loved having them by his side. He also loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting in Iona at the family cabin. Johnny also had a great sense of humour which he inherited from his father.

Besides his parents, Johnny is survived by his wife of 16 years, Nicole (Simmons), their three children, Gabe, Mya and Keagan; his sister, Toshia (Dave); brother Paul (Melaine); nieces, Brittany (Treyvon), Jean, Kimberly (Logan); and nephews, KJ, Dakota, Ryley, and Hunter. He is also survived by a large family of many aunts, uncles, cousins and his extended family Gerald Simmons, Cathy Osborne, Brian Simmons,

He was predeceased by his grandparents Micheal D. MacNeil and Shirley (Campbell) MacNeil, Eugene and Ellen Forget, his sister Christine in infancy, and Nicole’s grandmother, Pearl.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home on Monday, June 1, from 4 – 8 pm.
