Anthony Joseph Kirk Kelsey Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony (Tony) Joseph Kirk Kelsey, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, at home surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and family after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71 on May 4, 2026.
Tony is survived by his girlfriend, Sheryl Barker; his former wife, Elizabeth Upshaw (mother of Tyesha and Atara); his children, Nadine (Mark), Tyesha (Kevin), Atara (Joe), Corey (Shelley), Craig (Leanne); his siblings, Frances, Shawn (Gloria), Derryl, Ruby, Sharron (Richard); and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Pearl Kelsie, Catherine Randall (mother of Nadine, Corey, and Craig; his sisters, Jo-Anne Keel and Darlene Kelsie; his brothers, Eldred Kelsey and Greg Kelsey; his brother-in-law, James Beals; his nieces, Tanya Beals, Crystal Keel; and his grandson, baby Kory; granddaughter Tacoja; father in law Levi.
Tony will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, whether it be sitting in the sun catching the rays, cleaning and detailing his vehicles, camping, or just cruising around in his BMW.
He had spent 8 years at Central Building Supplies before moving on to his position at Annapolis Valley Regional School Board, where he worked for 15 years before retiring due to his illness.
We would like to say a special thank you to his medical care providers at the Kentville Regional Hospital (Sara and Lyra), as well as the Palliative team and VON, for their time and support.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday May16 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Lucasville United Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Oakridge Memorial Gardens. Pastor Calvin Willis and Stephen Gough will be officiating.
Refreshments to follow at Wallace Lucas Community Centre.
