Douglas Patrick Jessome, 63, of Stillwater Lake passed away suddenly on April 27th, 2026 at home, surrounded by his wife, brother and father. Born on March 10th, 1963 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton he was the son of Michael (Mick) Jessome and the late Martha Jessome. Doug grew up on the shores of Glace Bay waters where he spent many, many fun days with his friends, brothers and cousins. Doug maintained contact with many of his childhood buddies; he dearly cherished the memories of those days and often spoke of them. Doug graduated from St. Michael’s High School and went on to further his education at University College of Cape Breton. During that time, he started his own DJ business and played at many school events, weddings, and other events before leaving his hometown for other adventures. Doug worked in the provinces of Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, before ending his career as a valued employee with the Nova Scotia provincial government for over 27 years. He was very committed to his work and developed many long-standing friendships.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Sweet/Feltmate) of 19 years; 3 stepsons: Warren (Meejeong) Feltmate, Justin (Brandy) Feltmate and Brett Feltmate; his father, Mick Jessome; 2 brothers: Mike Jessome and Bill Jessome; sister-in-law, Bernadette Jessome; 3 grandchildren: Esme Feltmate, Hunter Feltmate, and James Feltmate; 3 nephews: Dale Jessome, Tony (Mike) Jessome and Dawson Jessome.

Doug was predeceased by: his mother, the late Martha Jessome; his brother, Samuel Jessome, and his 2 sisters-in-law, Brenda Jessome and Regina Jessome.

It was Doug’s request that there be no visitation or funeral service.
