Paula Michelle Head

February 10, 1971 – April 26, 2026

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved mom, Paula Michelle Head, age 55, of Glace Bay. Paula was the daughter of Peter Head and Beatrice (Freda) Boutilier.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose life revolved around her family. Paula was especially known for her hugs—warm, tight, and full of love. Her hugs had a way of making everything feel okay, bringing comfort, safety, and peace to anyone lucky enough to receive one. They were truly something special and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Paula knew how to fill a home with laughter. Whether it was dance parties in the kitchen with her kids, sneaking extra treats to the babies while baking (even when she wasn’t supposed to), or turning everyday moments into something fun, she always kept things lively. She loved playing peekaboo with her grandbabies and singing “You Are My Sunshine,” creating memories that will be cherished forever. She also enjoyed the simple moments—especially when Jared made her coffee, a small gesture that always brought a smile. She was also an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Paula is survived by her daughters, Nitishia (Weston) and Dakota (Tyrese), and her son, Jared-Michael. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Kayden (Michelle), Coby, Keegan, Ezio—lovingly known as “Nana’s chunk-a-monk”—and her only granddaughter who she called princess Nitishia.

Paula had very special bonds with a lot of propellers- Lorine, Laura, Charmaine, Eden, Ashley, Liz, and Jim, who were the family she built on her own and held close to her heart. And so many more, including Christopher Rose and many others we just couldn’t name. We truly bless every one of you.

She is also survived by her four siblings: Valarie (Steven), Tammy, Tommy, and Rhonda; her nephew Nigel; and her great nieces Brooklynn, and Adrianna. Along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Paula was predeceased by her sisters, Bernadette (Detsa) Head and Beth Head.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10 a.m., with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding, in T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.

Paula Michelle Head will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
