The family of Anne Kuchma (Morrison) are saddened to announce the passing of a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Anne passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Born March 9, 1931, Anne was the daughter of the late Hugh and Sarah (MacPherson) Morrison.


Anne left Glace Bay in the 1950’s for work with two of her best friends and “Oh what fun they had on the train ride.” She settled in Hamilton, ON, where she met the love of her life Ed Kuchma and became a loving member of the large Kuchma family. After many years, Anne returned home to her beloved Cape Breton Island.


Anne is survived by her only brother Dannie ( The late Phyllis), sisters-in-law Jenny and Stella, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved.


Along side her parents, Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Ed, sisters Margarite, Jessie, and Joan, brothers Angus, George, John, and Lloyd.

As per the request of the family, cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. There will be no service at this time.


If so desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Church or a charity of one’s choice.
