Cheryl Marlene Curry Obituary

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Cheryl Marlene Curry, 46, of Howie Centre on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born in Sydney, Cheryl was the daughter of Bob and Sheila (Burchell) Curry.


Cheryl had a great sense of humor, loved her large family, her sunflowers, playing cards, fishing with Brent, listening to music, and spending time with Becky.


Besides her parents, Cheryl is survived by the love of her life, Brent White; daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Becky) and her husband, Shrey Macwan; sisters, Janine (Jack) and Ashley; nieces, Shelby, Haylee, Amy (MacKenzie), Katelynn, and Lily; nephews, Jarod (Macy), Bobby, Harold; and grandnephew, Crew.


She is also survived by her beloved Godparents, Tommy and Cheryl Curry; special cousin, Katie Curry LeBlanc; friends, Lauralee MacAskill, Tara Cheetham, Kelly Watts, of Lower Sackville, and Mathias MacKinnon; Godsons, Brett Cheetham, Matthew LeBlanc, and Harry Stewart; many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; Brent’s mother, Sharon DeGobbi; his sister, Krista and her children, Karly and Jason.


Cheryl was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Eileen Burchell; paternal grandparents, Bernie and Margie Curry; and special aunt and uncle, Sandra and Donnie Robertson.


To her sister, Janine, and Aunt Lisa, there are no words to thank you enough for your love, care, and compassion over the last three years; and also special family friend, Valerie Dawe.


A heartfelt thank you to the management and staff of Celtic Court, especially Peggy and Kelly, her buddies, Beryl Grant, Ann Marie Wolodka, and Erin MacQueen.


Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS. 902-539-7175. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 25, from 4 – 7 pm.

Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
