Alan Keith Parks Obituary

Alan Keith Parks,74, passed away suddenly from flu complications in Halifax April 9 2026. Born in Winchester Ont June 12 1951. He was the son of Doug and Hazel Parks.


Alan's youth was spent in Kemptville Ont, but the family moved to Halifax where he attended Queen Elizabeth High School. He graduated from Career Acadamy Broadcasting School 1972 in Torobto and landed an on-air position at CJCH radio and TV. He later worked as a news reporter and radio broadcaster in Saint John, Moncton and Edmonton. He also worked as a speech writer and public relations manager for a New Brunswick MP in Ottawa.


Semi-retired, Alan returned to Halifax, got a dog (Lucy) and opened Juice Lucy's on Spring Garden Road.(Big thanks to staff)

Not one for sitting around, he Published and Edited The Source Health and Wellness magazine, copies still on-line.


He kind of retired but worked part time at the south end Atlantic Superstore till 2023.


Alan is survived by brothers Ron and John as well as nieces and nephews in Ontario. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Sweden.

He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Dave and Bill and his beloved canine friend Lucy.


A Gregarious kind friendly neighbour in his apartment building on Queen St he will be remembered for his quick laugh and smile.


Alan will be missed by many, with thanks to his friends for their much appreciated help and love. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the N.S. SPCA.


Interment and service will be in Upper Stewiacke NS in July. A memorial gathering and sprinkling of ashes will take place at his favorite walking place, Point Pleasant Park (by the anchor) on Sunday May 3 at 1 pm.


There will also be Prayers, food and music in the common room at 1186 Queen St, Halifax, donated by his apartment friends May 6, 2026 at 2 pm. All welcome.
