Richard (Dicky) Edward Forsyth Age 72- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard on April 17, 2026.

Dicky was born in December of 1953, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a young boy he worked alongside his father as a labourer in the construction industry. As he gained experience and started to self educate, he became a member of the labour union. Later in life after ending his career at CFAD Bedford as an Ammunition Technician; he enjoyed gardening and loved wood working. He treasured his collection of sports cards, comics, nascars, and everything else that followed him home in his Red Chevy pickup.

Dicky was truly “One of a Kind.” Known as a Jack of All Trades, he could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved being social and was a natural entertainer; his magnetic personality drew people in wherever he went. He had a deep love for softball and spent many happy hours on the fields enjoying the game, surrounded by family and friends.

Lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Georgette (Forsyth) Snair; son-in-law, Doug; and his cherished grandsons, Brandon and Jacob, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Survived by his loving brothers and sisters: Hollis (Julie) Forsyth, Derrick (Lisa) Forsyth, Donna (Joseph) Dominix, Anna Marie (Arthur) Fleet, Geraldine Baker; cousin, Kevin (Debbie) Coffill, who was like a brother; aunt, Dorren Strachan, along with cousins, godchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Daniel “Rick” and Geraldine (Strachan) Forsyth; as well as his brothers, Darren and Daniel; his sisters, Debra Ann (Debbie), Darlene (Darl) and Catherine (Cathy).

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Bedford Legion on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 2pm-4pm, where family and friends are invited to gather and share their stories of Dicky.

His wife and daughter would like to thank the staff at Parkstone for their exceptional care.
