Terrance Earl "Terry" Wilcox Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terrance Wilcox. “Terry” was the son of Earl and Allane Wilcox (deceased) and was a longtime resident of Louisbourg until illness led him to become a resident of Celtic Court, Sydney, NS. He is survived by his son, David Fetterly, daughter-in-law, Jennifer and two grandchildren, Whatt and Sybil Fetterly. He is also survived by three sisters; Mary Shepherd (Rod), Ottawa, Margaret Hennebury (Eric), Dartmouth, Cathy Brousseau (Roy), Elora Ontario; brother-in-law, David LeMoine, Mira; and by Germaine (Teddy) Drolet, Louisbourg, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Earl and Allane Wilcox, Terry was predeceased by his sisters, Germaine LeMoine and Elizabeth Mae Anna Wilcox, as well as his brother-in-law, Rod Shepherd. For ten years, Terry considered Celtic Court his home and lived there comfortably while forming many special friendships and appreciating the care and compassion of the caretakers. His family expresses sincere gratitude to the staff and medical teams for his excellent care and for providing the space he called “his beautiful home”. We also extend a huge Thank You to Jean Pearl, Heather Perry, and Mary Marsden for their kindness and support during Terry’s journey of life. It has never gone unnoticed.

Terry grew up in the town of Louisbourg, where he was well known for his friendliness, kindness and his gentleness to all. “Back in the Day” Terry filled in as DJ for Bob Dell. His life was accentuated by his great love of all music. No matter what song was playing on the radio or on a CD, Terry was always able to identify the song, the artist, and the details of the story behind it. He had a very extensive CD collection, and it was always his greatest pleasure to share his music whenever possible with others for their enjoyment and entertainment.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. A short visitation will take place at Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg, on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10:00 am. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with some light refreshments following.
