Angela Evans Obituary

Angela Mae Evans (née Spinney) passed away peacefully in the early evening of April 8, 2026, surrounded by love, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Born on October 17, 1942, in Argyle Sound, Nova Scotia. Angela was the daughter of Louis and Hazel Spinney. She grew up in a large, close-knit family filled with love and laughter, alongside her siblings Janice (Arnold) Alward, Louis Spinney (first married to Sandra, later to Cheryl; predeceased), Verna (Tom) Livingston, John “Cally” (Linda) Spinney, and Valerie (Ralph) Traer. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

On February 11, 1961, Angela married Robert “Bob” Evans. Together they built a life rooted in love and family, eventually settling in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, where they raised their two children, Robert “Rob” (Pamela) and Kristi (Andrew) Dobson. Following her retirement from Service New Brunswick, where she worked as a Deputy Registrar, Angela and Bob relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 2002 to be closer to their cherished grandchildren, Emma, Luke, and Sam.

Angela will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. She had a gentle spirit, a welcoming nature, and a laugh that brought joy to those around her. She loved to laugh—especially at a good fart joke—and that joy was contagious to everyone around her.

A dedicated and competitive bowler, she was a formidable presence in her weekly women’s bowling league, where she played every Wednesday with a wonderful group of fellow seniors.

Her love, laughter, and spirit will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
