Donald Gordon Schnare Obituary

It is with deeply broken hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Gordon Schnare on April 8th 2026, a man so deeply loved by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Donnie was a hard-working man in the concrete world, dedicating himself with strength and pride to his work. He found peace in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and embracing the quiet beauty of nature—but his greatest love, above all else, was his family. He gave his love freely, and his presence brought comfort, strength, and a sense of home that can never be replaced.

He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his gentle soul, and the warmth he carried so effortlessly. The world feels quieter without him, and the space he leaves behind is immeasurable.

Predeceased by his wife, Frances Schnare; his father, Raymond Schnare; his mother, Marie Schnare; his brothers, Barry and Gary; and his sister, Heather.

He leaves behind his brother, Kevin Schnare; his sisters, Debbie and Gail Schnare; his sons, Raymond and Donald Schnare; his cherished grandchildren, Callie, Taylor, and Cohen; and great-grandchildren, Beau and Ellie.

Though he is no longer by our side, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who love him.

He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

A special thank you to the QE2 Cancer Centre, VON, and Northwood Home Care for their care and compassion through these tough times.

A celebration of life will he held in his honour on Saturday April 18th, from 1pm-4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 95.
