We the family are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, Alan Robert Lewis, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend.

Born in 1954, he was the son of the Reginald Lewis and Emily (Holley) Lewis.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant sister, Emily Barbra Lewis; brother, Reginald Lewis; and sister-in-law, Sadie (MacQuarrie) Lewis.

Left to mourn are his brother, John Lewis (Anna); two sisters, Edith Lewis Jabalee (Richard), and Ruth Lewis; niece, Jennifer Collins (Shawn); nephew, Michael Lewis; and sister-in-law, Leona (Philpott) Lewis.

Alan was a lifelong employee of Schwartz Furniture. He was not only a loyal, honest, and hardworking employee, but that was his way in life. Alan loved life, loved animals (especially cats), to garden, read history, and getting to the beaches of Cape Breton and swim and enjoy the day. Alan had a great sense of humor and wit, enjoying conversations with friends and family. He will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank the nurses for their kindness for his short time in palliative care.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 19, from 5-7 pm.
