Keith David Coffin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Keith David Coffin, of Reserve Mines, NS, on March 20, 2026, at the age of 67.

Keith was born on June 5, 1958, in Glace Bay, NS. Keith was a man of compassion, kindness, and generosity. He would welcome you with a smile for a talk in the garage, always with a fire going in the wood stove. Keith would sit in his garage with countless friends, where they shared many stories, coffee, beer, and when Captain Morgan would make his appearance, laughter would fill the air.

Keith was known to be a skillful mechanic who could fix anything and was proud of his work. It was not a surprise to drive by his garage and see Keith working on anything with an engine.

Keith was a very gentle man, and it showed in the way he cared for his fur babies, Lucy and Levi.

Keith is survived by his wife of 48 years, Minette (Brown); daughter, Jennifer of Reserve Mines; son Justin (Jan) of Halifax; father, Norman of Glace Bay; brother, Barry (Heidi) of Glace Bay; and sisters, Laurie and Sherri (Todd) of Glace Bay.

The apple of Keith’s eye and his pride and joy were his two grandsons, Gavin and Parker. He loved and adored them immeasurably. He spent valuable and treasured moments introducing them to the country lifestyle at Papa’s Summer House (Keith’s bungalow at the Lollipop in Loch Lomond). Many hours were spent fishing, exploring, swimming, and taking joy rides on his 4-wheeler.

He will be missed by many cousins who will be sure to continue telling Keith’s stories at the fire pit at the Lollipop.

Keith was predeceased by his mother, Amelia Coffin, and his beloved nephew, Michael Aucoin (Reserve Mines).

At this time, the family would like to extend a special thank you to Edna and the Martin family, for their kindness to Keith by bringing him many home-cooked meals during his time of need.

A thank you is also extended to each and every one who helped out in any way. Your visits provided Keith with comfort, and we appreciate every one of you and will forever hold you in our hearts.

As per Keith’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
