Laura Michelle MacIntyre-McPhee Obituary
Laura passed away peacefully at home on March 16, at the age of 53. She is survived by Brad, her loving partner and husband, her daughter, Robyn (Joey), her son, Connor, her stepdaughter, Brittany (Eddie), and her stepson, Tyler (Jessica), along with their children, Jaylin, Jayce, Jackson, Auston, and Haylee. She leaves behind her adored fur babies, Tucker, Bailee, Teddy, Ozzie, Zoey, and Ivy.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Ann, who held a very special place in her heart.
Laura grew up in Big Pond but later settled in Glace Bay. Laura worked as a nurse for several years, but her true calling was caring for the ones she loved. Our home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of home-cooked meals, a place where everyone felt cared for and welcome. She was always on the go, whether driving to the hockey rink or to a soccer field, cheering on every game and supporting every practice. She was the ultimate hockey mom — you often heard her before you saw her; her energy, enthusiasm, and love for her family were impossible to miss.
Laura was someone who truly knew how to enjoy life and bring joy to the people around her. Always up for a good time, she loved spending sunny days by the pool surrounded by her close friends, laughing and making memories that will never be forgotten. She also cherished her time at “Clothing Club” with the girls — moments filled with fun, conversation, and connection. Laura’s vibrant spirit, sense of humour, and love for being with others made her someone people naturally gravitated toward, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Laura had a knack for handywork and was always creating or fixing something, with a running list of projects that never seemed to end. Whether it was improving something around the house or tending to her backyard, which she lovingly called her “oasis,” she took pride in making her surroundings beautiful and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.
Her family takes comfort in the many beautiful memories they share and in knowing that her love will continue to guide them.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Renal Dialysis Unit in Glace Bay and at the Regional for the care and compassion they showed Laura. A special thank you to Dr. Yeung for his kindness and dedication which meant so much to Laura and her family.
