Lola Yvonne Clark Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce Mom's passing on March 13, 2026 at the VG hospital. Born in Blandford on June 5, 1935 to Robert and Elsie Publicover she was the youngest of eleven siblings.
After finishing her education in Chester, she moved to Halifax to live with Eileen's family and began her career at MT&T in the accounting department where she worked for sixteen years. Mom and Dad were married September 1, 1962 and began their life in Johnson's Trailer Court and then on Rosewood Avenue where they welcomed Krista and Lloyd. A life-long musician and lover of music, Mom found an outlet for her talent with the Bluenose Belles and Citadel Chimes barbershop chorus groups singing in both quartets and as a chorus. She was also a fill-in organist at St Andrews Church in Timberlea and later after she and Keith retired, took over the organist position at St. Barnabas Church in Blandford, a position formerly held by her mother. Any event Mom hosted was likely to result in very full bellies and everyone around her and the piano with a kazoo in their hand humming along to something peppy.
Mom is survived by her children, Krista (Mike Cuvelier) and Lloyd (Colleen); and granddaughter, Avery Cuvelier. Sisters, Lydia, Olive; and sister-in-law, Betty. In-laws, Edna (Paul Norris) and George (Jamie). As well as many cherished nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, (W.G. Keith Clark); her parents; and siblings, Hector, Florence, Eileen, Beatrice, Mona, Mamie, Mabel and Edgehill. Beloved brothers-in-law Max, Keith, Ray, Garnet, Hubert, Gordon and Harold. In-laws John, Thelma and Lyle.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, March 20, 2026, in St. Andrews Anglican Church, Timberlea, Rev Cathy-Lee Cunningham officiating. Family burial to follow at St. Barnabas Church Cemetery in Blandford at a later date.
Special thanks to the staff at Melville Heights for the care and grace with which they supported Mom over the last three years and to the staff at the VG 9B for the last two weeks of gentle care they provided in the excruciating reality of the transition unit.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North End Opportunities Fund (www.neof.ca) or charity of your choice.
