It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected  passing of our loved one Ernest Douglas Symonds Jr who passed away on March 11th at the age of 60 in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the QEII Halifax Infirmary hospital after a brief illness. 

Ernest is survived by mother, Donna Symonds; sisters Kelly Symonds (Anthony) & Monique Symonds; nephews, DeAngelo Symonds (Megan), DeRico Symonds (Chanae), and Michael D’entremont; and great nephews, Casai and Cairo and Aunts Uncles and Cousins. 

He was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandmother, maternal grandfather and stepfather. Loving paternal grandfather, paternal grandmother, aunts and uncles.

Ernest worked at the Halifax Shopping Centre and Queens Square in Dartmouth for many years. Ernest had numerous friends all over and was deeply loved.

A funeral service / celebration of life will take place on March 20, 2026, in Beechville Baptist Church located at 1135 St. Margaret’s Bay road, at 11:00am officiated by Reverend Lloyd Grant. A repass to be held at 3 Ford Street community room at 2:00pm, following the service.

Internment to take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Ernest Douglas Symonds Junior.
