Janet Leigh Knox, 71

It is with deep sorrow, that we the family of Janet Leigh Knox of Glace Bay, announce her passing on March 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Born in Glace Bay, Janet was the daughter of the late Annie and Clifford Knox.

Janet valued the time she spent with her family, especially her sisters Linda and Heather. Janet enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was well known for her love of playing Crazy 8s, watching Dirty Dancing—mostly because she adored Patrick Swayze—and spending time listening to music, specifically her favorite singer, Daniel O’Donnell. She also loved playing bingo and sharing laughs with those around her.

Janet will be deeply missed by her sisters Linda, Juanita, and Heather; brothers Alfie, John, Norman (Mary), Glen (Rose), and Harold; brothers-in-law George MacDonald and Harold Ross; and her sister-in-law Susan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.

Besides her parents, Annie and Clifford Knox, Janet was predeceased by sisters Margie, Gloria, and Jessie; brothers Wallace, Billy, and Jimmy (Thelma); and sister-in-law Heather.

Visitation will be held at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, 902-849-4199, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 12–1 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Seaview Manor, Dr. Ellerker, the staff at the CBRH Emergency Department, and Palliative Care for their kindness, compassion, and care.
