Vivian Darlene (Peach) Pushie Obituary

Vivian "Peach" Pushie,

Glace Bay, N.S.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian "Peach" Pushie, on Friday, March 6, 2026, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. A longtime resident of Glace Bay, Vivian spent her life surrounded by a family so large it was hard to keep track of and but had enough love for every single one of them, and that love was truly mutual.

Vivian was a woman of endless energy and a "fun-loving, sometimes crazy" spirit that drew people to her. She never said no to an adventure; whether she was camping with her family or heading out to see something new, Vivian was always along for the ride.

She adored her sewing machine. From handmade bags and aprons to pillowcases and pajamas, she poured her love into every stitch. She found her greatest joy in creating gifts for the people she cared about.

She leaves behind her devoted husband and soulmate of 20 years, Larry, who remained by her side until the very end. Their bond was unbreakable, and we find comfort knowing their precious dog, Bella, was waiting to guide her on this next journey. Vivian's heart belonged to her children: Tommy (Heather), Jessica (Rodney), Chantell (Alex), and stepdaughter Leeann. She was a proud grandmother to Renny, and though her body could no longer fight to meet her newest grandchild arriving this May, she will undoubtedly be watching over them.

The "Twisted Sisters" and her brothers meant the world to her. She lived for their phone calls, video chats, and shared adventures. She is survived by her brothers, Ross and Freddie, and sisters, Mary (Greg) Corbett, Sharon (Gene) Vaters, Paulette (Buddy) Usher, and Lucy (Ray) MacNeil, all of Glace Bay. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Archie, Kevin, and Joe; and her sisters Muriel, Valerie, and Stella. She was also predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Hannah.

Following a stroke and several difficult months, Vivian's suffering has finally ended. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital across multiple departments. Your kindness and care over the last few years provided her and the family immense comfort.

Vivian was one of a kind, and though her absence leaves a massive hole in our lives, we would not change a single thing about the vibrant, energetic woman she was. She will be missed every single day.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Glace Bay, (902)849-4199.There will be no service or visitation at this time.
