Sharon Lane Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family share the peaceful passing of Sharon Lane (71) on February 28th, 2026: surrounded by immense love.

Mom was born to be a wife, mother and homemaker; a nurturer from a very young age she acquired all the skills and heart to make a house a home and her family feel loved and safe. She was the wife and mother that worked multiple jobs and made every sacrifice needed to allow her family success.

She was beyond talented in all things creative: crafts, sewing, crochet, art, interior design etc. You never knew when you left for the day if the house would look the same, you could have a new look or a missing wall. Mom wasn’t afraid to try something new!

Mom battled health concerns throughout her lifetime; proving repeatedly she was a warrior and a force of strength. She fought bravely until her passing. Knowing that she was guided on her journey and reunited with three people who took huge pieces of her heart when they left this world: her Grandmother Evelyn, Husband David and recently Daughter Betty-Jo (BJ), offers some comfort that they are together and watching over all of us.

Mom was always there to listen, support and help anyone in need the best she could. She had a huge heart and a huge presence. Her loss will be felt deeply by many especially: Loving mother, Betty Rafuse; sisters, Wendy Lund and Lynn Winfield; brother-in-law, Jim Winfield; special friend and Mr. Fix it, Dougie Tufts; daughter, Natasha Lane; granddaughter, Ashton Lane-Ritchie; great granddaughter, Oaklynn Lane-Ritchie; lifelong friends, Bobby/Marlene Lane, Debbie Spindler, Millie Pouw, Delena Dares, special friends Ruth Brown, Irene Sampson and Linda Moscariello.

Celebration of life to be held Sunday April 26th, 2026, from 2p.m.-5p.m. in the Greenhead Legion Lakeside NS.

Special thanks to her long-term medical teams, unit 8.1 and 3IMCU. Exceptional nurses of 3IMCU Tara and Kimee your care, kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Fly free Momma – you will be forever missed and forever cherished. XO
