It is with deep sadness that we the family of Gail Marie Arsenault announce her passing on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Hospice Cape Breton, Membertou, after a brave and courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Toronto, ON, Gail was the daughter of the late John and Marie MacDonald.

Gail was great all-around person who loved to cook, she was a fantastic seamstress and had a great eye for decorating. Her proudest achievement was the day her son Nathan was born. Gail enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Gail is survived by her pride and joy, her son Nathan; a sister Charlene (Roy); sister-in-law Claudia; nieces and nephews: Jackie Jr., Kyle, Angela, Brittney (Julian), Breanne, Austin (Kassandra), and Griffin; great-nephews: Brandon, Cole, and Weston.

Along side her parents, Gail was predeceased by a brother Jackie and great-nephew Cameron.

Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. N.S. (902)849-4199.

Nathan and Charlene would like to thank Claudia, Angela, (Jackie, deceased) and nephews Jackie Jr. and Kyle, for being by Gails side throughout her illness, thank you for getting her to all her appointments, whether it be hospital visits or to see her doctors, we appreciate all of you. Thank you to Cathy Bolla for the love and support that you have shown Gail throughout the years. To Hospice Cape Breton, thank you for the kindness, support, encouragement, and compassion given to Gail and to our family throughout this journey. Gail feistiness was something to reckon with, and we thank you all for your patience. Charlene and Gail were sisters with a bond that no one would understand, always looking up to her with her beauty, intelligence, and creativity. Rest easy Gail, and say hello to Mom and Jackie, we will always love you and miss you dearly.
