Keith Waldo Guest Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Keith Waldo Guest, who was born on October 2, 1953, in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, and passed away on February 5, 2026, at Dartmouth General Hospital.

Keith was the beloved son of the late James “Borden” Guest and Mary “Louise” (Clayton) Guest.

Keith spent his life as a scallop fisherman, dedicating himself to the sea and his work with steadfast commitment and pride. His connection to the ocean and the maritime way of life shaped the man he was and brought him great fulfillment throughout his life.

Keith had a strong and unwavering faith in the Lord, which guided him throughout his life. He was a proud and devoted member of Parker’s Cove Baptist Church, where his faith, fellowship, and love for God were evident to all who knew him. His faith provided him with strength, comfort, and peace, and remained central to who he was.

Keith had a natural talent and passion for painting and sketching, and he enjoyed photographing sunsets and cruising the province on his motorcycle. Above all else, his greatest pride and joy were his loving daughter, Kristen, and his grandson, Bowen, of whom he always had new stories and photos to share with family and friends.

Keith was a lifelong learner and achieved several personal milestones. He completed his GED and obtained his Captain’s License by completing the Watch Keeping Mate course at the NSCC Nautical Institute, Strait Area Campus, in 1997.

Keith is survived by his daughter, Kristen Guest; and his grandson, Bowen; his brothers, Wilfred (Carol) Guest of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Garnet (Emily) Guest of Upper Clements; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Keith was predeceased by his parents, James “Borden” Guest and Mary “Louise” (Clayton) Guest; his sisters, Lois Guest, Marie Guest, and Joan Guest; and his brothers, Carl Guest and an infant brother, Lorne Alton Guest.

Special thanks are extended to his nephew, Jeff (Heather) Guest, and Tyler Ellis (Corrina) for going above and beyond in caring for Keith during his short but mighty battle, as well as to the nurses and doctors at Dartmouth General Hospital for their kind, compassionate, and loving care.

A funeral service and celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parker’s Cove Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
