It is with deep sadness that we the family of Richard Rogers, 63, of Glace Bay, announce his sudden passing on Friday, January 30, 2026. Richard was the son of the late Rachel and Richard Rogers of Glace Bay, N.S.

Richard lived and worked in Ontario for several years before coming back home to Cape Breton to be with family, whom he loved dearly. He found joy in the simple things in life, camping out Mira, to cheering on his beloved Maple Leafs, and the Screaming Eagles with a cold beer in hand. He loved being with his family joking around and talking about the old times.

Along with his parents, Richard was predeceased by his cherished niece Tracey King and sister-in-law Nancy Rogers.

Richard is survived by his sister’s Donna (Darrell) King, Reserve Mines, Betty (Blair) Reserve Mines, Lois (Robert) Reid, Glace Bay, Kerrie Rogers (Michael), Glace Bay; brother’s Billy and David, both of Glace Bay, Bruce (Lorna), Bras d’or, and Robert, Reserve Mines; as well as several nieces and nephews.

As per Richards request, cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.

We take comfort in imagining him at peace with his loved one’s. Richard will be thought of often, missed deeply and loved always.
