It is with great sadness that we the family of George William Wadden, Jr., of Glace Bay, announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at home with his wife Alison at his side. George was born and raised in Glace Bay and was the son of the late Barbara Ann (Mullins) and George William Wadden Sr.


George was a quiet man who appreciated numerous hobbies, including his great collection of Transformers and his Runescape collection. He enjoyed working with his hands and repaired various Motorcycles and R.C. Cars throughout his young life.

George was employed with Cape Breton Island Housing and enjoyed hanging out at the farm and talking with the gang. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and biking.


George is survived by his loving wife Alison (McVarish); a son Garret; sister Debbie Wadden; nephews Christopher and Kevin; a niece Angelina Gale; and several loving aunts.


Along with his parents, George was predeceased by a brother Benjamin and paternal grandfather Alenby Wadden.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902)849-4199.


A Celebration of Life for the late George Wadden will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 1-3 p.m. at the Reserve Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club, 165 Main St., Reserve Mines.
