Frances Cox Obituary

Frances Cox

Glace Bay

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Frances Louise Cox, age 85. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Neil and Kathleen Cox, Lake Road. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Debbie and son Jim (Donna). She is survived by her three adoring daughters, Kathy (Shawn) Nancy (David) and Keli (Matt). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Julian, Peter, Liam, Kayleigh, Marlo, Shallyn and Len, as well as four great grandchildren, Rowen, Ryatt, Liliana and Darion. She is also survived by her sisters, Annette, Kathleen and brothers Neil and Michael. She will be forever remembered for her purely kind spirit, devotion to her family, her contagious laughter and love for her Lord. She was a beloved friend and devoted caregiver to many.

In life, our Mom most loved gardening, ice skating, sewing and dancing.

Many thanks to the nurses of CBRH, floor 3B and especially to nurses Kathy and Nancy, who showed extra empathy and comfort during our time in the hospital. A special thank you to the ER staff, Dr Stephanie Elleker and Dr Vadim Iablokov. Cremation has taken place.

Funeral mass will be held 10am on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Holy Cross Church, Seaview St., Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Church. Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.

‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.’
