We, the family of Trevor Hanson, with great sadness announce the passing of Trevor, January 31, 2026, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He was the son of Charles and Eileen MacDonald Hanson.

Trevor worked as a carpenter, Local 1588, and a truck driver before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Cameron) Hanson, of 60 years; sons, Brian (Cathy) Hanson, Michael (Dana) Hanson, Mira; daughter, Cheryl Ann Hanson – missed and never forgotten -; sisters, Charlene (Chuck) Dornadic, Debbie, Ontario; and brothers, Pattie Hanson, Alberta, and Roddie (Diane) Hanson, Mira; sisters-in-law, Kathleen, Diane, and Barbara; grandchildren, Jordan (Janelle) Hanson, Devin, Melissa Lanceleve, Chad (Susie) Lanceleve, and Jace Hanson, Mira; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Connor, Lucas, CJ, Lila, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Cameron; and brothers, Guy, Charles, Beaton, David, Dannie, Alden, and Walter.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, 902-539-7175. A Celebration of Life will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, February 7, from 2 – 4 pm.
