Aileen Elizabeth Frizzle Obituary

Aileen Elizabeth Frizzle (Walsh), 86, of Chester, NS, passed away, January 24, 2026, surrounded by her children. Born in Wolfville, NS, she was the daughter of the late, Victor and Mabel Walsh (Palmeter).

She studied to become a medical secretary and worked at the Kentville Sanatorium. Later, she worked at the Needle’s Eye in Chester, a role that beautifully combined her love of people and sewing, and she also served as a bookkeeper for our father’s company, JRF Tech.

Above all, however, she was a mom — and a wonderful one. Her family was her why. She raised us (and a few of our friends along the way) with kindness, humour, and clear expectations. Baking was her love language: cookies and cakes in abundance, and we were the lucky recipients.

Aileen was deeply involved in her community and church. A gifted pianist and singer, she was a devoted member of the Chester United Baptist Choir for over 35 years. She was a talented craftsperson who loved to paint, knit, crochet, sew, and arrange flowers simply for the joy of it. She adored playing bridge and cherished her “bridge girls.” Active and energetic, she skated, curled, and golfed — but dancing was, by far, her greatest joy.

Survived by 2 sons, Bruce (Kerri) and Garth (Tena); 1 daughter, Catherine Cheeranjie (David); 2 brothers, Fred (Diane) and Gary (Sylvia); 9 grandchildren, Evan, Connor, Haley, Jordon, Damien, Nicholas, James, Andrew and Norah; 4 great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Isabelle, Carter and Caleb. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her loving husband, John; and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral will be held later in the Chester United Baptist Church, 84 King St., Chester, as will the internment in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Shoreham Village Foundation, inquiries can be made info@shorehamvillage.com or to Bonny Lea Farm, a charity dear to her heart at www.bonnyleafarm.ca/donate/.

Aileen’s family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Shoreham Village for the love shown and care provided for many years. We are so grateful to the entire team.
