Douglas Wayne Boutilier, Age 78 of Halifax peacefully passed away in Halifax on January 14, 2026. Douglas was born in Mushaboom, Nova Scotia on June 8, 1947. Doug was the youngest son of, Earl and Jessie (Fredricks) Boutilier.

Douglas was a long-time employee of Canada Post retiring after 36 years. He later worked at Mannheim Halifax for 9 years driving cars which he loved. Doug also loved his 57 Chevy Bel Air and previously his 63 Impala. “Grampy’s old cars”. Grampy enjoyed a lot of good times driving his Antique with his wife by his side and with many friends. He enjoyed reading the Chronicle Herald News paper on a daily basis. Doug loved and adored all animals especially his Teddy & Cheetah.

Douglas leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Diane (Hiltz) Boutilier of 58 years. Doug and Linda were inseparable and enjoyed being wonderful Grandparents, driving the antique, and spending time with family. Survived by their sons, Douglas Boutilier (Shelley) and Clinton Boutilier; grandchildren, Kelly Boutilier, Kevin Boutilier and Carley Boutilier; great grandchildren, Jasper Boutilier and Hayden Rossignol. Sisters: Alice & Linda; several nieces & nephews and brother/sisters In Law, which he loved very much.

Douglas was predeceased by his brothers, Bob and Guy “Bub” Boutilier; sisters, Vi, Joan and Jessie.
