It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Herbert Patrick Snow, on January 14, 2026,at the VG Site, QE11 Health Sciences Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Herbert was a devoted husband, a loving and proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and his love for his children knew no bounds. He and his wife Regina opened their hearts and their home for over 40 years as foster parents, providing countless children with safety, stability, and a chance at a better life. Herbert believed deeply in giving children opportunity, guidance, and unconditional care, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.

In his early years, Herbert was employed at Tops Supermarket and later spent many dedicated years working as a manager at Highland Fisheries, where he remained until his retirement.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Regina (Locke) Snow. Herbert will be lovingly remembered by his children: Anita (Leo), Herbie (Candace), Conrad, Paul, and James. He was a proud grandfather to Victoria, Mekayla, Olivia, Brittany, Jillian, Jessica, Sarah, Avery, Emily, and Hayden, and a cherished great-grandfather to Jaxon, Aiden, and Ford.

He is also survived by his brothers, George and Wally; and his sister Shirley (Billy).

Herbert was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Josephine Snow; his brothers, Freddy (his twin), Sammy, Billy, Tommy, Robbie, and Austin; his sister Helen; and his beloved great-granddaughter Ozzy Layne.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. MacDonald, the Vascular Team at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, and the Palliative Care Team for their exceptional care, compassion, and support shown during Herbert’s final days.

A family viewing will be held on Monday, January 19, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Herbert’s life will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 20, 2026, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902-849-4199) Cremation will follow.
