It is with profound sadness and broken hearts we share with you the loss of our beautiful mother, Florence Kathleen Worth at age 90.

Mom was born in Beaver Cove to Margaret and Bernard Collins, and she passed away January 12 surrounded by her extensive and loving family at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.

Florence was devoted to her Catholic faith, community minded and is remembered for her kindness, unwavering integrity and love for her family. Florence’s hospitality was legendary and there was always room for one more at her delicious Sunday dinners. Her greatest happiness was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All children and babies brought her joy. Mom loved to go anywhere, anytime, and she travelled quite a bit with her family in her later years. Mom had a special bond with her sister and best friend Catherine Thompson. They shared many years of adventures, and they excelled in the hunt for the ultimate bargain. Both were members of Ashby Legion Branch 138 where mom was a member for over 50 years and served as Mistress at Arms. She also volunteered at the SPCA Thrift store.

Florence is survived by Cyril, her husband of 69 years and motorcycling companion, children; Linda (Reg Bezanson), Cyril (Nathalie Keroack), Debbie (Peter Pickup), Kevin, Karen (Murdock Cameron), Glen (Shannon MacRae), Gina (Bobby MacArthur), and Kim (Scott MacLean); grandchildren; Thayne, Jesse and Kate Bezanson, Evan and Julien Worth, David and Melanie Pickup, Allison and Joel Worth, Rowan and Tessa Worth, Emily and Ryan MacArthur, Joshua and Hanna MacLean; great-grandchildren; Darius, Evelyn, Nahla and Devyn;

siblings, Anna, Gertie, Don, Bernice, Michael, Vera, Julie, Pat and Eileen, special sister-in-law, Marion, and so many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Jason Worth; parents, Margaret and Bernard Collins; and siblings, Catherine, Mary, Margie, Mona, Joe, and infant Bernie; brother-in-law, Larry and sister-in-law, Catherine.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 16 at 11am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys on Cabot St in Sydney.
